§ 9.44.012. Restrictions on parking of recreational vehicles.

  • (a)

    No person shall park or locate, or use or permit to be parked, located or used on land owned by him or her, a travel trailer, camper or other recreational vehicle or motor home for living or sleeping purposes on the lot, tract or parcel of land in the city except as allowed by Section 17.48.150 of this code.

    (b)

    Any person who desires to park, locate, use, or permit to be parked, located, or used on land owned by him or her a travel trailer, camper or other recreational vehicle or motor home, shall first obtain a permit from the administrator under Section 17.48.150. The permit shall be prominently affixed to the travel trailer, other recreational vehicle or motor home, and shall be in substantially the following form:

    TRAILER, RECREATIONAL VEHICLE,

    MOTOR HOME PERMIT

    Pursuant to Union Gap Municipal Code Section 9.44.012, the travel trailer, other recreational vehicle, or motor home described as ____________ Serial No. ____________ or license plate number is authorized to be temporarily parked on the property of ____________ at the address of ____________ and be used for living and sleeping purposes from the date of ____________ to the day of ____________ .

    ISSUED this ____________ day of ____________ , 19 ____________ .

    No fee shall be charged for this permit. Upon discovery of a travel trailer, recreational vehicle, or motor home being used for living or sleeping purposes without a permit the police department is authorized to issue one temporary permit which shall expire the next business day. The issuance of such temporary permit shall not extend the time period set forth in Section 17.48.150.

    (c)

    Any travel trailer, camper or other recreational vehicle or motor home parked in violation of this section is subject to impound pursuant to Section 9.28.030 of this code.
