§ 5.04.170. Residential yard waste alley pickup.

    Residential Yard Waste Defined. For purposes of this section, "residential yard waste" means nonputrescible leaves, grass, yard trimmings, and tree and shrub branches not over five feet in length and not exceeding five inches in diameter, which has been generated by a residence located in Union Gap. Residential yard waste shall not include fruit, grain or vegetable matter resulting from the preparation, storage, handling, decay, or use thereof; tree or shrub branches over five feet in length or exceeding five inches in diameter; waste generated by any commercial use; waste generated outside Union Gap; or waste generated as a result of lawn maintenance, landscaping, tree or shrub pruning or removal, or other landscape maintenance performed for a fee.

    B.

    Collection. The city and/or its designee shall collect residential yard waste, placed for collection in a manner consistent with this chapter, from the residential districts in the city on a schedule to be determined by the public works director.
