§ 13.02.020. Purpose.

(a)

The purpose of this title is to provide minimum recognized regulations for the safeguarding to a reasonable degree of life and property from the hazards of fire and explosions arising from the storage, handling and use of hazardous substances, materials and devices, and from conditions hazardous to life and property in the use or occupancy of buildings or premises.

(b)

Nothing in this title nor the International Fire Code adopted by reference herein shall, nor is it intended to, impose any legal duty, directly or indirectly, upon the city or its officers, agents or employees to protect individual persons or property and individual circumstances.
